What is the difference between a single-gas detector and a multi-gas detector?

A single-gas detector is configured for one target gas and is often used when the hazard is clearly defined. A multi-gas detector monitors several gases at the same time and is useful where workers may face a combination of combustible gas, oxygen, and toxic gas hazards. More sensors do not automatically make an instrument suitable for every site; the sensor set must match the risk assessment.
