How can nuisance or false alarms be reduced?

First identify the cause. Possible factors include cross-sensitive gases, cleaning chemicals, humidity or temperature shifts, contamination, poor placement, electrical noise, incorrect settings, or a failing sensor. Use a suitable sensor, install it correctly, follow the maintenance plan, and investigate recurring alarms. Do not raise alarm setpoints simply to stop unwanted alarms.
