How often should a gas detector be calibrated?

Follow the schedule in the instrument manual and the site’s documented program. Frequency depends on sensor technology, use, exposure history, environmental conditions, test results, and regulatory requirements. Calibrate after a failed check and whenever the manufacturer or site procedure requires it. A universal six-month or twelve-month interval is not suitable for every detector.
