How should gas detectors be maintained?

Keep sensor openings and sample paths clean, inspect filters and tubing, check the enclosure and cable entries, verify the battery and alarms, and perform required tests and calibration. Protect the instrument from solvents, silicones, corrosive chemicals, water ingress, impact, and other conditions identified in the manual. Keep service records for each unit.
